The only way she can get over him is by quitting her job and seeing the world...once she indulges in one wickedly-hot night with him.

Only now she's pregnant.

Aleksei is furious when Kate arrives on the small Greek island of Naxea and tries to hide the truth for him. He takes matters into his own hands—by announcing the pregnancy to his family and asking her to marry him. Now Kate must decide if she can marry the man of her hottest, sexiest dreams...knowing she will never be the wife of his heart.

My Review:

Not having read any other works by Joanne Walsh, I was immediately drawn to the cover, I mean who wouldn’t? It fits the title and the synopsis really well that I just couldn’t pass along. Anyway, I really liked reading the book, the story as a whole is not completely new, but the author does bring a couple of fresh ideas to the plot that made it that much more enjoyable to read.

From the very beginning we meet Kate Burrows, assistant to a very powerful man that is just about to quit her job after working for Aleksei for a couple of years. Not because she doesn’t like her job, because she actually loves it, but she has also developed a crush for her boss and that has made things difficult to keep working for him knowing that they will never end up together. Now Kate has decided very suddenly to quit her job and go on vacation with her best friend. But on the very last night before leaving her old life behind, she ends up sleeping with her boss, now she is traveling abroad only to discover that she might be pregnant with Aleksei’s baby. That is when all hell breaks loose and Aleksei comes to her rescue, but all to soon he is proposing her to get married and move to Greece with him. It all sounds great to her, but knowing that he is only proposing marriage so that he could be close to the baby makes Kate’s decision that much more difficult to make.

Aleksei Aleksanou is great at what he does, he is not only handsome, but also a very powerful Greek millionaire who can get just about anything that he wants. Ever since Kate started working for him, he has desired to make her his, but his lifestyle has prevented that from happening. Known to be a complete player, he never commits to a single woman, and to those that he doesn’t like anymore he sends expensive jewelry to them, and through his PA, Kate. So she knows that he will never commit, and that has prevented him from trying to make a move on her. But on their last day together, he can’t resist any longer and kisses her, soon things move quickly after that and she is gone. Now he is in Greece to meet his family only to discover that Kate is there as well and she is also pregnant with his child. Now he has to convince her that marring him would be great for the both of them and the baby.

It is evident from the very start that both characters are attracted to each other, but it’s interesting how their relationship changes as the story progresses. Now that they are going to be parents, they are not just thinking about themselves, but about the baby as well. The biggest decision that Kate has to make is whether or not she is going to move to Greece and be part of Aleksei’s life there. Overall the author did a good job in terms of the plot line, though there were times when I felt that the story wasn’t moving fast enough. But I still liked it and would recommend it. : )
