Welcome to Whitetail, Wisconsin, future home of Weddings that WOW!

As acting mayor, Annika will do anything to revive the economy of the town that's been her refuge ever since her art career imploded and her fiancé walked out. Even if it means crashing an engagement party to talk business with the bride's billionaire father. But the evening starts with a kiss from a gorgeous stranger—and ends with a night in jail.

Finn Callahan can't believe his sister is getting married, not after their parents' disastrous track record. And he'd rather be anywhere than working from his family's vacation home. Until he catches a leggy blonde sneaking in the window, and suddenly telecommuting for the season is very appealing.

Unable to resist their mutual attraction, Annika and Finn are soon mixing business and pleasure—just for the summer. Too bad Annika's heart missed the memo about not falling in love…

My Review:

Saved by the Bride is a romantic and entertaining book that I enjoyed reading. Fiona Lowe does a very good job describing the setting and the characters of this book. Everyone has a past and they are unable to move forward. When Annika is assigned as acting mayor of her small town, she wasn't expecting to find herself dealing with Finn Callahan, his family and her past. As acting mayor, she is determined to help her town in their financial crisis, so she is willing to do just about anything to help those that she loves no matter what. When Finn is call to attend his sister's wedding, he wasn't happy to find himself trapped in the house that brought unhappiness to his family. When Annika stumbles upon Finn at his sisters party, the both start an adventure that will lead them to face their past and their love.

I really liked how the story is set up and how the characters develop, although the ending was a bit rushed for me. I do think that the overall idea of the story was great. Both Finn and Annika's story is not just about them, instead is about learning how to overcome their pasts. They both bring an element of strength to each other that provides them with a push towards happiness. I loved Annika's personality, she is strong and is willing to help her town. But when things get tough, her town dismisses her. After putting so much effort to helping them out, she is left wondering if what she was doing really mattered to the town. Finn's relationship with his family is one of the reason he has issue believing in love. He hasn't had the best relationship with his father and he misses that when his step-brother is the one spending more time with their father than he did when he was younger. That is what is keeping him away from his family and therefore closes himself to the opportunity to love. The ending was great, the events tied up well, and the characters were able to solve their problems. Overall, I would recommend everyone to give this book a try, it really has a lot of elements that make up for the perfect romance story.
